Kaldur was not sure if he could believe that he would even be able to assist Zatanna, who was probably light years ahead of him as far as magic was concern. He also couldn't believe that she knew Batman when he was young as the caped crusader appeared very old and Zatanna did not. The only possible way that it seemed likely that the two of them knew each other was if Zatanna had been a very young girl.
The thought of being trained not only in the magical arts of combat, but also how to combat those with the ability of magic made Kal have flashbacks to his time at the Conservatory of Sorcery with Garth and Tula. "I look forward to these training sessions, and I am sure that the others will as well."

Zatanna smiled at him. “This will be fun Kaldur. But I do ask think outside of the box.” Zatanna got up and smiled. “I am not someone who plays inside of the box from time to time. It all depends who I am fighting.” Zatanna always had fun playing with Circe well any one who really had powers. Zatanna thought it was a way to learn more magic was when she fought people that had magic.
For Zatanna learning magic with water was going to be easy now with Kaldur there. “Yes well we shall see how the others react with me training them.”

Thinking outside of the box is something that Kaldur knew a little about with how he used his water channelers, but he still like to make a plan for going into battle. He knew how to adapt to a situation if necessary, but most of his adversaries had more experience doing that. "Using magic is sort of an out of box move, so I wouldn't expect you to act within the parameters of a box."
"It shall be very interesting to see how Kid Flash does against you. Given his personal beliefs about magic." He wondered what exactly Zatanna was going to show him as far as magic went.

Zatanna laughed. "It means thinking outside of the box you have to fight different. Not using the same style you use." Zatanna looked at him. "Seems like underwater things are way different. Figured Aquaman would have taught you a lot before you came up here."
"I just wish he wasn't like Flash. Its hard to be around those who don't believe in what you are doing." Zatanna figured that was one reason why him and her never really worked out. HE was a great guy just the whole magic thing isn't reall didn't help much. "He will learn that magic is realy."

Kal knew what it meant to think outside of the box, and that is what he considered the use of magic. It was pretty unconventional in the way it worked, and not many people used it during combat as it was very dangerous for them. "Aquaman did teach me a great many things like battle strategy, teamwork, and etc, but he is not one to go to for things magical. His wife was my teacher prior to my time as his sidekick."
"They just like to have a rational view on how the world works instead of one where some supernatural forces are orchestrating the events that make up our lives. It is an understandable position as some are not ready to believe in something like magic." Kal believed that one day the speedsters would come to terms with the whole magic thing. It would just take a few more events that science couldn't explain to get them there.

Zatanna smiled and nodded. "Just make sure you always do. It makes the fights more fun and easy to win from time to time. See things that are not their look in between the lines." Zatanna did not know much about Aquaman and his life and his world. "I do not know much about his life and who he is. It was somethign I was never really able to do when I was on the team. Get to know your teammates. if you don't you could regret it for a while."
Zatanna smiled "He was brainwashed by Flash." That was all she could say and smiled at him. "Sometimes its okay to be stubern as well. Just know when you lost the game."

It was true that thinking outside of the box was a way to make a fight fun and finish it quickly, but Kaldur knew that it was also reckless in some situations like working on a team. Her advice about getting to know his teammates was something that Kaldur knew the value of. He believed that each one of his teammates had more to bring to the table then what they learned from their mentors or the powers they had.
"I am doing so as we speak by hearing your impressions of Kid Flash's beliefs on magic and how his mentor has influenced him. It is very informative." He was sort of kidding, while also being serious about the idea of gaining insight on to a team member. Kal was taking mental notes on the speedsters and Zatanna.

Zatanna smiled at him and shook her head. "Just make sure you have fun at times. Don't let this team make you a boring person. You need to find friendship and love. Be a person don't be some one who just don't have emotions. Its not fun at all and its now a way you want to live life." Zatanna got up and put a hand on his shoulder. "Trust me you need to learn that this team is everything."

Kaldur was okay with having fun every once in a while, but he was not yet ready to search for love. He needed time to get used to his current situation before thinking about a relationship on that level. "Do not worry. I know how to have fun when I feel that the situation calls for it. My life will consist of more than just being a superhero."

Zatanna smiled "Good. Sometimes I wonder if the superheros even remember what fun was. Besides kick bad guys ass." That was something Zatanna would never lose. Her father taught her well and this was something she new she could never forget. "Just don't forget at all alright. Fun is always important."

"I think that most heroes know how to have fun except Batman who probably makes it into a training exercise, so that it can't be considered a waste of time." Kaldur considered jumping from a really high place into water fun as well as training himself in sorcery fun, but he didn't think that was what she meant.

Zatanna looked at him and nodded. "Just hang with your freinds alright. Once you get to know them adn see what they like you will have fun." Zatanna put her hand on his shoulder "Trust me you don't want to try to be a loner of the group. You want to have friends and have fun."

"I have no intention of being the loner of the group, and I try to be a part of anything and everything that I am capable of being a part of just so long as those involved want me there." Kaldur did not like to intrude on things that others were doing if he was not already invited. It was considerable rude to do such things.

"Thats great because one day all of you will be up in that tower. Being up there you will be working with every superhero there is." Zatanna looked at him and smiled. "I have been friends with Batman since I was about a teenager." Zatanna looked down at him with a smile still. "Who ever you makes friends with will always be there for you."

Kaldur wanted to be up in the tower now, but he knew that he was not ready to a part of that team. Maybe in a few years, he could be a member of the Justice League, but for now he was content with being a part of a team with heroes his own age. "I believe that every member of the team will be a friend of mine for the rest of my life."
