Personality: Zatanna has a sympathetic and warming personality. She gives hugs and kisses to others with genuine tender and friendship; Zatanna knows she needs her friends for strength. She will do anything for her friends and teammates, and to make sure they are safe.
Zatanna is also a loyal friend and team player, and would never turn her back against her friends; she would do whatever it takes to look after them. She is brave and is willing to face strong people and go out of her way to lend them a helping hand, to get whatever information they need. Since her specialization is magic, she is willing to help out whenever it came to “magical favours”.
It is also rare for Zatanna to get angry; she just has that type of personality. The only time she really gets mad is when she is provoked. When she is provoked, how she reacts can be very unpredictable. Also, her emotions can sometimes be unclear, that is, it tends to be hard for some people to figure out what kind of mood she is in. She is excellent at masking her feelings and emotions outside of anger.
History:
Zatanna was the daughter of magician John Zatara and Sindella, a member of the mystical “Homo Magi” race. Zatanna is a direct descendant of the artist Leonardo da Vinci and is related to Nostradamus, Alessandro Cagliostro, alchemists Nicolas Flamel and Evan Fulcanelli, and King Arion of Atlantis.
Zatanna was a stage illusionist before she discovered her magical powers, when she was investigating the disappearance of her father. Once she found him, they were together for a short time. Unfortunately for Zatanna, both of her parents were killed; they were saving her life at different times.
Zatanna had assisted the Justice League of America on a number of cases before being elected to membership. During her tenure with the group, her power level diminished so that she could only control the four elements of earth, air, fire and water. Zatanna had taken a leave of absence from the Justice League only to have reappeared during a battle with Despero.
Zatanna departed from the League once again, although she continued to appear on stage as a magician. However, she is there whenever the League is in need of her, which is normally when they needed help with mystical threats.
The Justice League told Zatanna about the Young Justice team and she has agreed to help keep an eye on them and to help them out when they need it. She kept her promise and began to stage her shows closer to where Mount Justice was found. She knew most of the team was familiar with her and that she was with the League.
